Current medical status: heart skips a beat around 3 - 4 times a minute then followed by a stronger beat
Current medical treatment: had ECG which was clear..... but typically didn't occur then! Am signed up for bloods, U's and E's, Thyroid and Full blood count

It depends upon the reason that causes the heart rhythm irregularity. The reason can originate from the heart as well as from outside the heart (a thyroid disorder, for example). Doctors will know the reason for your arrhythmia after you do all those medical investigations.
