heavy bleeding after surgical abortion
Posted: 05-16-08 08:01am

My girlfriend had a surgical abortion on March 5 of 2008. She was active immediatly after, like nothing ever happened. We haven't been intimate much at all afterwards. But, she is constantly bleeding even now. When we have intercourse she gushes blood. Not brown discharge like blood but, like when you cut yourself. The bleeding stops as long as she doesn't move but, if she tries to walk it pours. She has recently got on the depo shot but, the bleeding happened even before this. The date today is May 16th, that's over two months after the abortion and the heavy bleeding accured this morning after intercourse. If it helps she is 22 years old on effexor for depression. No other illnesses and has a 18 month old that was born with no complications vaginally and naturally.

She really needs to see her doctor; any unexplained bleeding like this must be checked out.

It CAN be from DEPO, most certainly.

Post abortion bleeding is normal, but then to ADD depo can cause some womens cycle to become abnormal.

Definitely see a doc, but it is not necessarily from the abortion.
