Hello, New Poster Already Glad to Be Here

Hello everyone, i'm here in desperation as probably so many are. I've just read a few posts from people who seem to have the same type of problems as me- i've never found anyone before on boards who ahve and never seem to get any responses. Let me introduce myself- i'm teresa, 46 and I started getting headaches about 20 years ago after the birth of my children. They started very much like they are now, progressed to migraines and now I seem to have a combination of both. I can't seem to find any relief or painkillers that work that don't give me side-effects. I know I have migraines and take a tablet when I feel one coming but this other is what I believe is sinus, although I was once told sinus is frontal and not one-sided. If it goes on long enough it suddenly makes me nauseous and becomes a migraine but initially migraine relief doesn't work. Like others of you seem to have, I have an almost constant pain or soreness behind my eye, usually my right although it can swop. It's like someone pushing my socket with their thumb. The pain then goes down my nose and across my cheek and often in my neck. If it reaches my temples it's awful as it throbs whenever I move. Hot, stuffy atmospheres make it worse and it can come on suddenly. When it's bad I can taste and smell cattarrh all the time even though I don't have a cold. I'm always seem to have cattarrh in my throat and feel it after eating although rarely spit any up. This pain gets me down and can go on for days on end, sometimes abating but always waiting, if you know what I mean! My eyes feel really strained and tired and I long for bed although can't sleep when it's bad.I recently had my eyes tested and it's not them. I can't understand why decongestants don't work- sprays actually make me feel much worse a few hours later. I took sudafed but they made feel spacey and shaky which is no good when i'm working. Please, please, please can someone help me. No-one I speak to ever seems to know what I mean, unless they have a cold or something, but I don't. Please can you recommend something. Doctors i've seen just give out antibiotics or sprays and I really don't want any surgery. Thank you.
