Hemorrhoid surgery status Posted: 04-12-08 12:03pm
I wrote this last night...
Well, I just had my small thrombosed
external hemorrhoid excised (scapel),
today. Its been about 5 hours since the
surgery and I have not needed pain
killers. Maybe its because I have felt
much worse pain during my knee surgeries
and having the stitches removed from my
knee. Picture one long stitch being pulled
from the inside of your skin for 5
minutes. That's pain. Removing this
hemorrhoid was a bit painful when the
novacaine was shot in my butt but nothing
compared to knee surgeries and stitches
removal.
I do have a mild to medium uncomfortable
feeling down there but nothing that I
haven't been able to deal with. So far so
good.
I decided to have the surgery because I am
a very active 43yr old male with a wife
and 5yr old daughter. I was not going to
put my activities on hold for too much
longer.
It's now Saturday around 1pm. I wasn't
looking forward to the morning since I'm
usually regular in the mornings. Well, the
actual pooping part wasn't painful at all
but the after affects was a bit painful. I
quickly prepared a sitz bath and most pain
was relieved. For the past month I've
increased my fiber intake so i did have
loose stools. I made it to my daughter's
first soccer practice and sat in my
folding chair for most of the practice. I
was a little uncomfortable but nothing
that I couldn't handle. Also, I still have
not needed any pain meds that I was
prescribed. So far I think I have had mild
to on occasion medium discomfort.
I will check back in the coming days to
report on the progress.
