I have cholesterol from the age of 18 and until today (23years) i take lipitor to lower my cholesterol level to the normal level. The cholesterol is a family related illeness. From 3 weeks ago, i started feeling a pain in my chest for a couple of minute that it stopped. Sometimes it happens twice a day and other days it won't occur. Just yesterday i woke up with a fast heart beat that was disturbing. it lasted for 45 min around. I had water, a cup of camomille and have a small sandwich of nutella then it was better. I really want to know if the chest pain and the fast heart beats are symptoms related to my cholesterol illeness or what other factors could cause these symptoms? I am worried how important these symptoms are, and if it's urgent to see a doctor or they are normal symptoms that might happen to a person out of fatigue.

i take 20mg of lipitor daily to lower my cholesterol level to normal Current medical status: last blod test was from 7 months, with the lipitor i have normal cholesterol level High cholesterol, by itself, is not manifested with any symptoms. High cholesterol, if not treated, in time, can cause vascular disorders (atherosclerosis) that can be manifested with certain symptoms that can include chest pain and tachycardia if the heart’s arteries are affected. Although your high cholesterol is congenital, I believe that treatment prevented atherosclerosis so your symptoms (chest pain and fast heart rate-tachycardia) are probably due to something else. An ECG should be done to exclude various heart disorders, especially those caused by coronary atherosclerosis. You may want to consult your primary health provider.
