I went to my 2nd doctors appt yesterday and when she listened to the heart beat it was at 162. It just scared me because I went to the ER last weekend.. Saturday the 1st and the heart rate was at 150. Is it normal for the heart beat to jump that high in a week?

That is pretty normal. It sounds like a 'girl' according to old wive's tales.

heart rates change depending on fetal age and what the baby is doing nomal is betwen 120 and 170 (i believe) so yep perfectly normal

well thats a relief.. thanks.. lol i would be VERY suprised if it was a girl! my boyfriend comes from a very dominant male gene. 2 brothers. no sisters. 6 uncles. 1 aunt on his dads side and 13 male cousins 1 female cousin. but i will of course be very happy with any gender. We will see on the 23rd!

My babys was 169 and doctor said that was perfect

My babies range from 150-170 and I was in the hospital over this last weekend and they jumped up to 190 which was way to high.. They had to give me an iv and then the babies heart beat dropped back to normal..
