Hi - I recenntly had a CDC. Everything was
in the optimal range for me , a 30 year
old female. However, my platelelets were
at 674 k/cu mm. What does this mean? Also
my WBC was lower than the 7.3 optimal
amount, at 5.8. I am scared. Please
advise.

A low wbc count can mean many things. It
could be that you are fighting off a
virus. High platelets can cause abnormal
clotting as well as other indications. Has
your doctor had a discussion with you
about these lab results? Make an
appointment and go over these labs with
your doctor. Anything that is out of range
should be rechecked and further work up
should be done if they are out of range
twice.
