Hip pain after c-section Posted: 08-31-08 17:53pm
I've had three c-sections. After my third
son was born (8 lbs., 3oz.), I experienced
extreme pain in one or both hips. It began
near my femoral ligaments but now I
experience it on the front of my leg. The
pain is worse after I've been up and
around most of the day (cleaning house,
walking with my son on my hips) and can be
so painful that it's hard to walk.
Tylenol doesn't seem to help. I'm worried
that it may be something serious.
Any ideas?

Was this experienced immediately after the
c-section?
Do you find it hard to control the
muscles?
Have you lost the feeling in your skin,
too?

No, not immediately. I don't think I have
trouble controlling the muscles; however,
when the pain is at its worst, I have
trouble even lifting my leg up to take a
step. I haven't lost feeling in the skin.
The pain is most noticeably in the front
of my hip/thigh area and gets less painful
around toward my groin area.
