HIV infection and unprotected sex Posted: 05-12-08 02:44am
I had sex with 2 different prostitutes in
the same week. This is the only time I
have done something this risky. I wanted
to know what the statistical chances are
of contracting HIV using a condom. I did
wear a condom both times. As well as the
chances of contracting HIV if the
sex-worker did have HIV, what are the
chances of contracting HIV from 2
unprotected encounters if the person was
HIV positive.
Thanks for your help.

unprotected sex twice the risk is doubled
which means 0.1%.
Chances for a man getting an HIV-infection
from an infected woman through protected
vaginal sex are reduced by 80% which means
the total risk is 0.01%. Having
unprotected sex twice makes the risk
0.02%.
