ello,
I am a 22 year old girl. This past summer
I dated a guy for 2 months while living in
France. We had unprotected sex many
times; we talked about std's and he said
he didn't have any. Now that I think of
it.. I'm really not sure since he never
actually was tested when I was with him
and emphasized often enough that he hated
going to doctors.
Now it is 8 months after the fact. For the
past few months I have been sick off and
on. The past two months have been the
worst. I have bouts of extreme fatigue and
general malaise to the point that it is
very hard to concentrate on school work. I
often have headaches as well. My throat
has been red and sore for about 3-4 weeks
now. It kind of looks like I have white
stuff on my toungue which really freaked
me out cause I thought it was oral
thrush.. I went to the dentist a few weeks
ago however who assured me that it was
not.. I still don't know what it is
though. My tonsils are also kind of
swollen and I have experienced lymph node
pain under my arms at the worst point of
my sickness. I often experience night
sweats, although that seems to be going
away now. I still have a red throat,
enlarged tonsils (I think) and the weird
stuff on my tongue.
I'm extremely worried I have HIV... what
do you think of the symptoms listed above?

Take heart, you are not alone Pseudoname1111 Posted: 03-12-08 23:44pm
I am concerned about the symptoms you have
mentioned and while it could be anything,
I recommend a HIV test just to have peace
of mind. Sorry you are going though this.
All the best and please let us know what
happens. Take it easy, don't freak out,
remember to breath and take it a moment at
a time.
My mind goes back to when I was first
tested in 1993 and I had to wait two
weeks. My mind racing and not being able
to talk to anyone about my situation at
the time. The test turned out positive
but I still took up a new job in medical
school. I promised myself that life would
go on. Soon it will be fifteen years ago.
That amazes even me.
Don't stop your school or anything like
that. Life goes on.
Make sure to change behaviour. It is
important that you don't take person's
word for it that they do not have HIV. It
is better that you see the test results
with your eyes.
Test as soon as you are ready. The sooner
the better my dear. xoxo
Always

Mson is right, have yourself tested. It
will bring peace of mind and give you the
answers you need to make informed
decisions. Take care and good luck to you.
Let us know how you are.
