how did you get pregnant ?
Posted: 07-13-08 03:07am

i'm just generally wondering to all that are actually pregnant, how did it happen? were you planning it, or was it accidental? If it was accidental, did you use a condom, birth control..., did he pull out...? did you not do anything protective, but still wasn't planning a baby?

just curious. =] enlighten meee...

Completely unplanned. At 21 (me) and him (2Cool we were just starting to plan our wedding and so on and them...bam positive pregnancy test. I was on birth control (ortho tricyclen) and had been for 7 years with no issues prior to this. We didn't use condoms because well birth control is supposed to be 99% effective and like I said never any worries before. Anyways now going to be 18 weeks in a couple of days and couldn't be happier Smile

LoL i wouldn't go as far as saying its "best". Like I said at 21 and 28 we were nowhere near planning for children. But having said that I obviously love my child more then anything and while I would have liked to do things differently (and would certainly NOT advocate pregnancy at my age), you take what life throws at you and turn it into a positive and make it work Smile

And FYI to all those out there who trust their birth control: if you really want to be safe double up and use condoms as well Wink

Mines a little more complicated than that, lol.

We both wanted kids, but said we should wait awhile. I wasn't on any type of BC and we didn't use condoms. I knew when my period was and when I ovulated (calender method I believe) and one day I said it was safe, but it wasn't. Our daughter is now 3months old.

So I'd say accidentally on purpose, Laughing

I was on birth control for the past 8 years. But I had a nasty case of strep throat and was put on 2 different antibiotics. We didn't use any other backup method because I have been on antibiotics before and never got pregnant so we weren't concerned. So of course the week my period was due to come, I didn't get it, I was sick all week. The day I was suppose to get a refill on my birth control I decided I better test just in case. And bam it was positive. I couldn't believe it, I took 3 more tests before I believed I was really pregnant. The worst was telling my boyfriend, I dreaded it, but when he came to my house I took a pregnancy test and handed it to him, it was one of the digital ones. So he was holding it when it came up and said I was pregnant. lol.. He actually took it great and kissed my belly so all my fears were gone from him doing that!

Oh honey I have been there and done that when I was younger. I think everyone makes bad decisions but thats how ya live and learn. Heck I was still making bad decisions up untill I found out I was pregnant. But now that I am pregnant and got to hear the babys heartbeat I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Same here I was also on birth control when I got pregnant! I was 20 my boyfriend was 23. It was the day after I ended my period and I had ran out of my birth control but we didn't think I could get pregnant because it was the day after I ended. So about 2 1/2 almost 3 months later he asked if I had started my period. So I took at test and sure enough it was a big fat postitive. Scared the crap out of me so I took another one. I went to his place showed him the test and I cried my eyes out so did he, so he went and got like 5 more of the most expensive tests lol. All positive! We went to the Dr. to double check and were actually able to hear the heartbeat and it was just the most amazing beautiful sound both of us had ever heard, all our thoughts of abortion went right out the window, we didn't realize what really was happening inside me until then. Were are now happily married and our son is almost 2 years old, and wanting another baby! Congratulations and Good luck to all the new mommies out there!

well, i would say chances are ... good... that it'll be a positive...

i had unprotected sex like a day before i should've been ovulating...

he didn't even pull out.

but, i think i've thought bout it sooo much that i want it. haha, and that feels wrong, but i don't know. all i can do is wait for my period to come or not come...

Mine was planned. I was on the pill and stopped to try for a baby. And it happened pretty quick! Smile I'm 17 weeks today and looking forward next week to know the gender.

Ours was planned. I stopped birth control in November 06. I was told it could take a year to conceive. So we kinda just left it up to the powers that be. In June 07 I started to get worried and came on here for advice. Sure enough sometime between Nov and Dec 07 I conceived. Our baby boy is due in 5 wks!

So we planned sort of, but just had sex and waited for it to happen. I researched temping and such, but it was just too much trouble. I knew we would get pregnant when I was meant to be pregnant.

Recent turn of events make me think we could have waited. But our baby was made in love and he is wanted.

well I hadn't been taking my pill for months, though we used condoms, and then I got pregnant, nothing is 100%. But I'm happy about it now, I guess you could say she's kinda grown on me so to speak. Very
Happy

My husband and I planned our pregnancy. We have been planning it for a year on when and where we would try. Actually, our pregnancy is like a little blessing for us.

A few monthes ago, my mother passed away, and she knew we would start trying soon, then a month later an uncle who I was close to and who was like a father to me passed away as well. We didn't get the chance to tell him, we found the Monday before he passed away.

So our little bundle to be is really a blessing in this hard time. I can't wait to meet it and tell it all about the two who would have loved him so much!
