How do you curb your cravings???? Posted: 04-24-08 17:35pm
Hey ladies. I would like to know what you
did to engage in the cravings but at the
same time careful not eat like a pig.
I am starting to be hungry ALL THE TIME.
Like three meals a day arent enough. The
past week I have been eating fruit as
snacks but even that doesnt seem to curb
my appetite. I feel starved only a couple
hours after I eat. Like the pains in my
belly hurt as if I havent eaten all day. I
have been indulging those moments with
chips, crackers, chocolate, ice cream. So
you see where this is headed? I will gain
100 pounds before my ninth month!
So what kinds of foods are good for me to
snack on that will hold my hunger pains?
My hubby seems to think that I need more
vitamins. Arent the prenatals enough? All
though I must admit that I do not take
them every day. Maybe a couple times per
week. So am I lacking in other areas, is
that why I am hungry?
Any advice would help. This is my first so
I keep telling myself who cares if I get
fatter than I should. But I am the type to
have serious issues with weight so I NEED
to do something.
oh im 5'3" 137 pounds. I lost 15 at the
beginning of my pregnancy.

You should be eating every 4 hours. Small
meals. 3 meals a day isn't going to cut
it. Your calories only need to be
increased by 300 a day. That is not very
much at all. Read the labels on packages.
Any veggie is good for a snack. Carrots,
broccoli, tomato, etc. You should be
drinking a lot of water! Everyone says,
"Oh, I drink water." Great. Drink more.
The amniotic fluid
surrounding the baby gets like stale fish
tank water if you are not hydrated enough
to keep it changing. That requires
drinking a lot of water.
Sometimes we tend to snack when we are
thirsty. Before you snack, drink a glass
of water.
Fruit is good for snacking too.

yeah, what ingi said!
i just wanted to add that you should not
take additional vitamins. everything you
need is in your prenatals and too much of
some stuff is bad so you don't want to
take extra.

you also need protiens to make you feel
satisfied longer. carbs will only
satisfy your hunger for a little while.
that is why it's important to have a
balanced meal, with carbs and protien. a
little veg, a little meat (or beans or
whatever) and some grains will keep your
tummy happy for longer than chips or other
junk foods. it's okay to have good fats
too (like olive oil or fish.) those are
great for the baby because they are
important for brain and nervous system
development.

small snacks are good, a few fruits, some
veggies, crackers with peanut butter, i
sometimes make half a peanut butter
sandwich if im feeling like i want to eat
before dinner time, soups too.
3 meals a day wont do it, the baby needs a
little more than you do now.
Materna is good to be taking, but some
take Folic Acid as well.
I take one Materna a day along with one
Folic Acid vitamin for vitamins for the
baby and me.
try that if you like
