own bed? I put him in there and then he
wakes up screaming. and is it ok to give
pedilight all the time?

Do you mean Pedialyte....or are you
referring to some type of pen light?..I'm
a bit confused. If you are referring to
the drink Pedialyte...
As far as giving it all the time...I found
this article:
Giving Pedialyte with regular solids makes
little or no sense. It is not a magic
medication that stops diarrhea or
vomiting. Basically, Pedialyte and similar
electrolyte solutions provide a
physiologic and foolproof liquid that can
be given to a child with stomach flu.
Mixing with other solutions negates its
advantages. That is, it changes the
concentration of the constituents of
Pedialyte so that they may no longer be in
balance with the body fluids. To function
optimally, Pedialyte should not be mixed
with anything. You will be able to find
Pedialyte in various flavors, or even in
Popsicle form which can add a little
variety for your child.
That was taken from "The Informed
Parent".
Hope it helps.

i know exactly what you are going through,
i find myself in the same situation every
night, so im just giving up until shes
older. ive tried everything, maybe a hot
water bottle wrapped in a blanket will
help. or a pacifier , or a stuffed toy.
nothing anyone has suggested on here has
helped my daughter and i, but i hope you
can find something that works for you and
your baby.

I recommend you get the book called "Good
Night, Sleep Tight...The Sleep Lady's
Gentile guide to helping your child go to
sleep, stay asleep and wake up happy".

Well, I have had that same problem, how
old is the baby? My oldest slept with me
til she was 2 1/2. My middle ALWAYS slept
in her own bed, she'd cry if you laid next
to her. My baby slept in both, but to get
her to sleep in her own bed, I would stand
beside her crib and pat her and sing. Then
after a few minutes if she was still
crying, I would kiss her & leave the
room. Return in about 5 minutes and pat
& sing again. This sometimes would go
on for an hour or so, but I would lean in
her bed and kiss her through out, to let
her know I loved her. This eventually
worked, it took about a week or so of
steady work....Naps & All! All kids
are different, but my Pastor is a
"Coroner" and is STRONGLY against
co-sleeping. He has seen MANY deaths of
infants by suffocation.

I know PERSONALLY one couple who's infant
son died just that way...the father
accidently rolled over on him and the
infant suffocated.
You say oh, that can't happen to
me....that is what they said also.
It CAN...
FlowerMom 03 that technique is the right
technique for teaching a baby how to fall
asleep in their own bed. Good work, and
glad you kept it up...sometimes it takes
awhile eigh?

Do what feels right even if it means that
you have to let them sleep with you. Just
as long as you know the precautions.
