I've been concerned about this for a
while, but keep telling myself it's ok.
Maybe someone can reassure me. My son is
4.5 and he is uncircumcised. I thought I
knew everything about caring for an
uncircumcised penis before making the
decision, but now i'm not so sure. It
was my understanding that by now the
forskin should be able to pull back from
the head. I thought this would be the
perfect age to teach him how to clean
under the foreskin and everything, but it
does not seem to go back at all. It's
also very hard for my son to let me look
at it. I keep meaning to ask the Dr.
When we go, but on the rare occasion we're
there, it's the last thing on my mind. I
wonder if anybody else has had an
occurance like this?

Firstly, how old is your son?
I would imagine your son's pretty young if
he hasn't been taught to clean under the
foreskin...
Anyhow, i'm uncircumsized also... And it
used to be really tight, and it takes a
while for the skin to loosen. Best
advice coming from me would be not forcing
it because it'll hurt bad and I won't know
how safe that would be doing that. If it
doesn't easily go back, then just wait
until it does.

I think it will loosen naturally towards
puberty at which point the child will be
mature enough to look after his own
hygiene.
