I'm only 4w3d. Posted: 04-05-08 10:47am
Hey guys.
So I wont lie, I am dissapointed in the
fact that an ultrasound revealed my
little one is barely more than a group of
cells right now. I can only see a little
speck in the sack, which the doctor
pointed out as my baby. My period date
said I should be about 6 weeks now. My
doctor said that my period date was just
off. I have a longer cycle than what I
though instead of the default 28 days, its
more like 34 -37. We'll anyway the doctor
said not to worry I actually just took the
test on one of the first days it because
accurate and the little one is just a bit
behind than what we though. He said I
would defineltly be able to see a
heartbeat on the 24th of april. So I have
an ultrasound scheduled for that day.
Has anyone had a similar situation. I
would like to talk to anyone that has.
Thanks!

That happened to me. According to my LMP I
should be 20 weeks but I am only 18 weeks.
When I tested positive w/a home pregnancy
test the doc said that according to my
blood levels that I was only 3 weeks
pregnant, but my LMP would put me at 5
weeks. So they did an ultrasound but could
not even find the sac. They were only able
to see that there was a lot of blood
pumping to one lil area in my uterus. So
this of course meant that I wasnt nearly
as far along as my period said either.
Sure enough my 1st ultrasound confirmed
that my LMP was not an accurate date to go
by. So yeah thats what happened to me.
At 7 weeks pregnant I had an ultrasound
and I could see his little heart beating.
At 7 weeks I could not hear the heart beat
though. I havent had an ultrasound since 7
weeks so I am very anxious to have mine at
20 weeks. Oh but I did hear the heart beat
using the doppler at 14 weeks. Hope this
helps

if your not tracking your cylces
(ovulations predictor kits/cervical
mucus/cervical position/etc) you dont know
exactly when you concived so it is very
very likely that you miss calculated, it
happens a lot more then people realize,
the 28 day cycle is a tv fantasy, they are
all over teh place, every womans is
different, that is why doctors usualy do
an early ultrasound just to be sure they
have your dates as close as possible

Yeah, I'm more calm and not so worried
now. People at work were just starting to
freak me out. I had like three people say"
My ultrasound matched exactly with my
period date". So I guessed thats why it
freaked me out.

Yeah, no reason to freak out. I was a lot
farther a long by my cycles than the ultra
sound was saying with my last baby. I
wasn't worried so much since it was my 6th
baby, but it was really aggravating. I
thought it was something like the 15th of
January, but when I went to the doc, I
measured somewhere in December, so he put
me there, then he moved it to January 3rd
later, then the ultra sound put me around
the 18th I think. Seemed like every time
I went in, the pregnancy was going to get
longer!
Turned out I was the closest in the first
place than the doc, and I have the baby on
the 13th of January. I'm irregular, so
the normal charting methods with the wheel
and all weren't going to work.
Congrats on the pregnancy!
