Infant with petechiae and high white blood cell count Posted: 03-17-08 22:19pm
I am so confused! My Ped noticed that my
son had a few petechiae (broken blood
capillaries under his skin) about a month
ago. She said if it got worse to bring him
back... Well... it's WORSE, WAY WORSE! I
was sent o the ER, blood work was fine
except for high White Blood Cell count &
high Lymph count. They are at a loss
because he has NO fever & NO other
symptoms. Has this ever happened to anyone
else? HELP!!! They are sending me to an
Infectious Disease doctor now... I am so
confused. Can anyone HELP?!?

Sorry no one got back to you? How is your
baby and what was the diagnosis? Was it
ITP or similar disorder?
