Q: Infections during pregnancy

Im 31 weeks pregnant and im starting to notice yellow/greenish type discharge.This is my first preg and i really don't know if this is normal or not.Could this be a yeast infection?During my first trimester i had an infection and the doctor prescribed me Metronidazole Vaginal Gel .75%.Is this medication safe to use now at 31 weeks?Please let me know because im starting to worry and my Doctor is out of town on Vacation. My other option would the hospitals emergency room.

You need to go to the ER immediately. It is possible that you have an infection only, but it is also a possibility that you could be leaking amniotic fluid tinged with meconium, in which case your baby could be in some distress.

Don't freak out just yet, just contact your doctor right away and take care!

You should definatley go get asap!!! I had an infection both times I was pregnant and didn't find out till delivery. My infection came from Group B strep passing through my mucous plug and into my amniotic fluid and placenta, passing the infection on to my babies. My 2nd was a stillborn due to this infection. You seriously need to go to the Dr asap!!!
