Irregular bleeding after miscarriage Posted: 06-09-08 11:14am
I had a miscarriage March 21st, baby was 9
weeks and I miscarried because I got
pregnant with Merina IUD in and baby's
heart stopped beating 2 weeks after Dr.
pulled IUD out. I had bleeding for about 5
weeks after the D & C, then had an
extremely heavy period May 13th with more
than golfball sized clots for 2 of those
days. Went to ER because of the amount of
blood where they said it was my first
normal period since the D & C and because
my body has to get back to normal agian
because I had been on BC for 8 years
prior. (2 healthy kids btw-- those 2
pregnancies were the only 2 times I
haven't been on BC in 8 years).
My ob/gyn said I was normal at my 5 week
checkup after the D & C and I was free to
start trying to get pregnant.......
SO, about a week after I stopped bleeding
from my "first normal period", I started
bleeding again for a few days but much
lighter. My husband I have been trying to
conceive since 5 weeks after the D & C,
about 6 1/2 weeks now . I am wondering if
this was another period or if it is still
my body trying to regulate, or if it could
be that I was ovulating or even
implantation bleeding. I took a test today
and it was negative but I could only be 3
weeks maybe 4 at the MOST. I have been
very nauseous for 2 days which I got
nausea at 4 weeks pregnant with both of my
kids.
So my questions are this:
-Shouldn't I be regular by now and having
normal periods and ovulations?
-Was the bleeding that I got after
stopping my period from ovulating,
implantation, or is my body still
regulating?
HELP!!!
I am impatient because it only took us 3
weeks to get pregnant after we started
trying for both of our kids!

Try to be patient with yourself. Remember
that your body has been through trauma and
is trying to heal. It takes a little while
for the pregnancy hormones to leave your
system, so your cycle might take some time
to regulate again.
And every pregnancy is different - keep
that in mind. My daughter was conceived as
soon as we started trying, but our second
pregnancy took almost a year of trying. I
understand how frustrating it can be when
it's happened so easily before. Allow your
body time to heal and recover, andknow
that when it's meant to happen, it'll
happen.
