Irregular bleeding on IUD Posted: 03-03-08 10:41am


I have had an IUD for 6 months. Out of that no period for 4 months. Today I woke up spotting. Is that normal after 4 months of nothing?

YES it is. WHICH IUD do you have? MIRENA? Mirena causes 20% of women to lose their periods, but MOST women will have lighter than usual periods, or patterns of absence of blood like you are having.
