irritated labia after sex
Posted: 04-03-08 07:21am

My girlfriend and I had our first intercourse (but that was not the first time for both of us) three weeks ago, then her period came about a week after that. She felt quite an intense pain in her vagina the day after we had sex but the pain slowly subsided as time passes. The problem is, she felt itchy and irritated at her libia as well as around the opening of her vagina during and after her period until now, plus it seems to get worse. There isn't any bumbs or rashes but the libia is slightly reddish and gets even itchier when scratched. It does not give any odor, neither does it have any abnormal discharge (except for a little wetter panties on some days) and she changes her panties everyday.

What are the possible reasons for such discomfort? Is it better for her to see a gynea or a dermatologist? I am rather worried, so please be so kind to reply if you have any advices at all. Thank you so much for your time and considerations.

Cheers,
xxx

She might be irritated from the sex or the type of condom you used. If it has been a couple of weeks like this I would recommended having her go to her gynecologist.

Well, she took this one-tablet antibiotic and it seemed to be working pretty well now. But, does it not mean that she should not face such problem if I am pretty clean myself? And can the problem be caused by sex even if she only face it a week after we had it? By the way, a gyne would be the last resort for her, if you know the way Asians think - tend to be more conservative. Anyway, thank you so much for the advice. Appreciate it.

Cheers,
