You need to see a gynecologist and be tested for an STD. It may only be a yeast infection but there is no way for anyone to know that without going to the doctor. Do yourself a big favor - buy some condoms and have your boyfriend use them. You need to protect yourself from STD's and pregnancy.

I agree. You need to be tested. You should have your boyfriend tested as well. That way, you will both know.
In the future, you should request that your partner have a test done BEFORE having sex. That is the safest route to take. Don't take any chances because you never know what anyone has by looking at them.

You might have a yeast infection or even an STD. You will have to be tested for all of that. Sex isn't supposed to hurt...you aren't doing something right. There is a book in th Dummies series "Sex for Dummies" that you can try....I've though about getting it myself. Sometimes it hurts for me and sometimes it doesn't and I've been doing it for 10 years. Don't expect it to be the automatic hollywood thing that it's made out to be.

Yes, but just because your engaged it doesn't take away the chances of him having an STD. Do you want to know hoe to contact a doctor? Do you have a family doctor or a clinic there, planned parent hood is another great place to go. Congrats on your engagement! Smile

Since you are shy and obviously do not want to seek medical advice just yet, go to your nearest pharmacy, or even Wal-Mart and buy the suppository for yeast infections. Also, until you buy the medication or seek medical attention, try soaking in hot water with baking soda to relieve the itching. If over the counter meds do not help, then yes, you need to seek medical advice. Does your partner have any signs of STD's? Have you told him of your concerns? Also, not to offend your boyfriend, but a bath after sexual intercourse will help this sort of problem from happening again, if it is a yeast infection.

You are welcome - hope it works for you! I had a lot of problems with yeast infections when I was younger, and the meds always worked for me.

Hi,

I've been having a somewhat similar issue. My vagina seems to get itchy (minorly) after my period every once in a while and I know it's normal to have a little discharge, mine's stayed white-ish like normal. Also, I have tiny, tiny cut right below my vaginal opening... but I think that may be from using tampons every period. I am not sexually active with my boyfriend either. I've been using Vagisil a couple times a day which helps but I was just wondering if this is something I should worry about.

Thanks for your help.
