Knee Pain And Cracking... Help Required
Posted: 06-26-05 16:31pm

About 4 years ago I suffered from what my doctor said 'ligment pain' just below my knee and ever since i've been suffering from pain on and off but recently its been behind the 'patella' area.

What I am suffering at the moment is pain in what feels like between the 'patella' and the 'femur' area but the pain only seems to be when i'm going up and down stairs, kneeling, bending, walking up and down hills and do on. I am also suffering from cracking in teh same area when I bend my knee, which i've not suffered from before.

I have been to see a doctor who has put me on ibuprofen which I have been taking now for 5 days and no different, I know there not magic pills and work overnight but its not even eased off. I have been wearing tubigrip to help support my knee when up and about but take it off at night (as required) due to circulation.

I'm a very active person and with four children aged 12, 10 and 9 year old, as well as a 20 month old I have no choice but to be active  .

I was just wondering if any one has and idea what this could be.

Go get another opinion with another dr that you know will do something about the situation.
Sincerely,
sandy

I'm really sorry about your pain. I know it's very hard to go through that. My husband has very similiar symptoms and so far the doctors haven't been able to give us a diagnosis even with an mri. I wish I had some good advice but all I can really offer is sympathy. There is one thing that helps make the pain a little more bearable for my husband and that is coral calcium. You might try it. It couldn't hurt. I hope you find something that works for you.
