Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew about
knee problems. I have had knee pains
come and go, they usually stick around for
a week or two. My doctor suggested
orthodics in my shoes, and I have been
wearing spencos. Over a month ago the
knee pains started again, and have gotten
really bad this time! My knee hurts
especially when I straighten it with
weight on it, and when I am sleeping it
just hurts to straighten my leg. It is
only my left leg. The pain seems to be
the worst just above the kneecap, but when
it's bad I feel it below the knee cap too,
and right up my thigh! I am a highland
dancer, and that's all jumping. When I
am warmed up and dancing, the pain is
gone. I'm wondering if maybe there's a
muscle i'm neglecting which is causing
another to compensate and overwork,
causing pain? (i've heard of similar
things). I don't want to go to the
clinic and just be told to take ibuprofin
and ice it, I would love if someone knew
what this could be. Or, even better, if
there were exercises I could do to
strengthen a muscle? Thanks for any

Did this just randomly start one day, or
did you injure yourslef to start it all
off?
I have had major knee problems and the one
universal exercise you can do to get it
workign properly is this
lie on the floor, back against the floor,
both legs outstretched. Try to push push
the back of your knee down onto the floor
and lift your heel up. Hold it for afew
seconds.
It helps for any random aches you get in
your knees. I often do it in bed when I
get knee pains.

Thank you for the idea! I didn't have a
specific injury that caused this. I have
actually started going to phsyiotherapy,
and the physiotherapist said that my
highland dancing probably caused it.
Apparently I just have to avoid deep knee
bends. I have been given exercises. My
knee always hurts these days, but
sometimes it's only when I do something I
shouldn't. Anyway, I will try your
exercise daily.
