Does he have voice-related symptoms
(hoarse, weak, raspy, or breathy voice)
when he wakes up in the mornings?
Does he have have a sore throat, too?
Has he, also, experienced severe pain,
difficulty swallowing, and coughing?
Is he a smoker?

Yes he is a smoker.Went to doctor
yesterday and doc thinks its allergies.Put
him on a nasel spray and will set up for a
ENT to look at the voice box to see if has
polipus(sp).The doctor felt no
swelling,nogels so don't think its
cancer.since there is no pain,no swelling
no other symptoms at all.I just hope the
doc is right. He thinks its due to post
nasel drip.

I hope it's allergy related, too.
Also, smoking is known to cause repeated
bouts of laryngitis, because those who
smoke are more prone to throat dryness,
which is a major contributing factor of
laryngitis. So, it will be beneficial for
your husband to quite smoking.
Coughing and post-nasal drip may also
contribute to laryngitis after a person
has been exposed to allergens or
irritants.
Is your husband suffering from chronic
sinusitis?

the nasel spray took away the hoarse voice
and he hasn't been around what we think
his allergy is.So voice is normal now.Have
to go to EMT in may.

Coughing and post-nasal drip may also
contribute to laryngitis after a person
has been exposed to allergens or
irritants.
Laryngitis caused by allergies is usually
intermittent and unpredictable.
Drinking plenty of water and inhaling
steam can be helpful.
