im new to this, but i have a question. im
about 2 weeks late. the last time i had my
period was march 24, that was the first
day of my last period. and i havent had it
since. my cycle lasts a little longer so i
was probably suppose to get it at the very
beginning of this month. im usually
irregular, but its already the 15th. my
husbands in the military and he was home
for a couple weeks for r&r and we had sex
from like the 22nd of april through may
11. i thought i was suppose to get my
period whil he was home but i never did
and still havent. ive taken 2 pregnancy
tests already and both were negative. was
it too early to test? any info would be
helpful. thank you!

You can always go to the doctor and get a
blood test.
That is the most accurate way to know for
sure.
It could be the stress from your husband's
leave?

So the only time you could have conceived
is between 4/22 and 5/11, right? If so
then it would still be too soon for the
hormones to be detected on a home pregancy
test. I beleive it takes 2 weeks from the
time of fertilization to be "pregnant" (im
not 100% sure about the 2 wk thing)
So I suggest maybe waiting until the end
of the month to test again. If no period
and no positive then I would see a doctor.
They can do a blood test, the blood test
can detect pregnancy very early on. Good
luck!
How long have you been trying?

yes 4/22 through 5/11 is the only time i
could have conceived. ya maybe its stress
from him leaving but ive been more
stressed before and ive never just missed
a period, so thats why im wondering. i
havent yet switched my healthcare to where
i live cus i moved so i dont have a doctor
where i live yet, ive been looking! but
ill test again at the end of the month n
see. we werent necessarily trying but we
both knew what could happen, and were both
excited if we are. hes anxious for me to
find out already! lol. i just hate not
knowing.
but i was just curious, cus my breasts
dont feel sore, i havent had any cramping,
so it doesnt FEEL like im gonna get my
period but i really dont know. just a
little confused...

yeah it would be too soon to feel pregnant
also. If you are pregnant then the
symptoms come around 3-5 weeks I beleive.
Like cramping and sore boobs.
Im not sure where you live, but you can
look up planed parenthood or a free
pregnancy testing facility in your area.
They may be able to help you without
insurance. Im not sure if they charge you
though.
But here in Phoenix theres all sorts of
emergency pregnancy centers and crisis
centers that test for free.

I'm pretty sure planned parenthood does
testing for free. Also there's a lot of
midwife stations that will test for free
too. I'm sure you can find some stuff on
the net. Also my husband is military too,
and i was able to get tested on base at
the nurses station for free, just for
being a military wife. So maybe look into
that too.

ya well im not near a base right now. my
husbands deployed and im in ca with my
family til i move back to where were
stationed in july, in alaska. but ya i
guess ill wait n take a test again in a
week or two n if not then ill look into
that. i was just worried cus i didnt know
what was goin on, but since it might be
just too early to tell, i feel a little
better. thank you.

its ok I was the same way. I was 2 months
late until I got a positive test result. I
know exactly what you feel like. I had a
period in nov, was late dec and jan. But
kept testing negative. Then finally in
January I tested pos with a home preg
test. By then I was about 5 weeks
pregnant. SO I still do not know when I
conceived cause my periods were jacked
up...it still doesnt make sense to me..lol

necessary to get a blood test if a hpt
says positive? or are they pretty
accurate?

no i dont think its necessary. The urine
is pretty accurate. Ive read that there
are false negative but never false
positives.

I never had implantation bleeding. Its
extremely common but not all women get it

It doesn't sound as if you are pregnant if
your LMP was 3/24, you'd be 4 weeks late.
You should go see your doctor, there may
be some other reason you aren't having
your period.

I don't see how at 4 weeks late you would
still test negative. Some people get
positive tests a few days before their
period is even due, let alone a month
later! Your body would be producing more
then enough HCG at this point for it to be
positive.
I second Ingi's doctor idea because being
a month late and not being pregnant could
be a sign of something else going on

well if it makes a difference, I'm nver on
time with my period, I'm usually irregular
but not by this much! I was probably
suppose to get it by the beginning of this
month, so I wouldn't he 4 weeks late,
close enough though. But I also heard some
girls can just skip there period every
once in a while? So maybe that's me idk?
I'll still wait til next week to be sure,
I've just never skipped a period, so it
would be a real coincidnce to do that now
after me n the hubby had unprotected
sex... Guess I'll just wait n see?

I'm really irregular too so I wasn't sure
either. In fact i didn't find out till I
was 7 weeks. I guess you could wait it out
but you could always just stop by the
doctors office and get some bloodwork done
to determine if it is in fact pregnancy.
Then if you find out it's not go back to
your doctors and discuss whether they feel
its normal that you just skipped a period.
I know when my ex was deployed I skipped
my period a couple of times just because
of stress so who knows
