long term back problems
Posted: 06-30-08 13:48pm

I've had severe back problems for the past two years and I was wondering if someone could give me some advice. Basicly all the pain is located in the upper back around the shoulder blades and the top of my shoulders. It usually goes out when I get nervous or if I tighten up my back. When it does go out it gets worse and worse until one of shoulders feel higher than then other. Other symptoms include hot flashes and loss of strength. I've gone to like three chriopractors and seen my doctor far too many times no one seems help. If anyone knows what this is could you plse give me some advice on what could help.

Hello Chladely,

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to read about your pain.

Could you explain what you mean by "It usually goes out when I get nervous or if I tighten up my back."? Thanks

I would suggest that you seek the advice of an orthopedic doctor/surgeon. Make an appointment to see the very best one that you can find in your area. In fact make an appointment with two orthopedic doctors as 2nd opinions are always a good idea.

Perhaps Zak hun has some thoughts on your situation.

As others have suggested, I recommend you make an appointment with a neurologist who can better take a detailed history and do an exam. it seems that you possibly have been suffering from neck problem. Diagnosis which requires meticulous history-taking and examination technique so unfortunately, I am unable to offer you any definitive answers on this forum. Best of luck.
