Longterm use of Valtrex Posted: 06-26-08 16:59pm


I have had herpes for 25 years and have been taking Valtrex daily for the past six years. Every time I try to wean off it, I get prodrone symptoms that tell me another outbreak is coming. Will long term daily use of Valtrex damage my liver or cause other bad side effects? Should I work on finding an alternative therapy or just be happy that Valtrex actually works at keeping me symptom free?

Where is your herpes located? Which "prodrone" symptoms you get when you stop taking Valtrex?
