losing pouch under belly button Posted: 04-14-08 19:39pm
I have been working out for 3 months...3-5
times a week...doing cardio and some
weight training...but the pouch under my
belly button doesn't seem to be getting
any smaller. I've lost about 7 pounds. I
wasn't really heavy to begin with...I was
134..and now I'm 127. The pouch annoys me
when I sit...it forms rolls..ugh...does
anyone know how to get rid of it? I know
you can't target specific body parts..but
I've been doing cardio and nothing is
happening. I also do ab exercises. help!!

Sit ups alone doesn't quite cut the cake
ladies (assuming the Original Poster is a
lady). To the Original Poster, while you
have lost 7 pounds, which congrats
assuming you lost it in a healthy fashion,
as you know, fat tends to stick to your
thighs, butt and abdominals the most. I
would recommend work outs that involve
more torso movement other then in the
sagittal plane (like sit ups where you are
just going up and down in one direction).
You should keep up the cardio, good for
you regardless, too many people dying from
cardiovascular diseases anyway. But by
cardio did you just mean jogging/running?
Swimming is highly recommended.
Perhaps pilates classes or dance exercise
classes?
I know I haven't been quite descriptive,
but I will get back to you with specific
exercises later on. For the time being,
what exactly do you do when you are
exercising. Saying cardio and ab exercises
are a bit too general. How long have you
been doing this and how often/how long per
week?

I either get on the elliptical or run on
the treadmill for 30-45 mins. Then I do
100 crunches....I usually go monday, wed,
friday, and sometimes saturday and
sundays.

your trainer should be fired, ok maybe not
but he should be informed that ab
excerices do absolutely nothing to
decrease the mid section. DIET does, thats
it period! I know its hard to believe but
please trust me on this.
