in short, yes, however using the GI scale
isn't concrete in determining what you
should and shouln't eat as a hypoglycemic.
For example long grain white rice is
low-GI but a definate no no.
You would be best off googleing a
hypoglycemia diet for common suggestions
to what you can eat. Unfortunately there
are a huge amount of 'maybe' foods and
this will be dependant on your own
experience.

Konnor has some good points.
To repeat, low GI together with general
hypoglycemia guidelines, are just that,
guidelines. Start with that, then tweak it
to suit you. Everyone is different - you
may find that you can tolerate fruit where
some people can't, or maybe you can't
tolerate carrots where the next person
can.
And don't forget to ask your doctor. With
a diagnoses your doctor should have given
you a general idea of the right diet to
follow. If it was a bit vague
(unfortunately it is sometimes!) then ask
to see a nutritionist.
