Hi there,i am a 19 year old male and i am
very stressed. I have had stomach pains in
my lower stomach part, like 7cm below my
tummy, the pain is like binding pain,as if
someone is tightening your lower stomach
area. I pass motion like 3 times per day
and it is normal though sometimes i have
the sensation that i have to pass more but
nothing comes, stools are brown and not
narrow.
Just 2-3 days after my initial pains
started,i went overseas and the doctor
there gave me norfloxacin as he suspected
a urine infection and i took the whole
dose for a week and after that i was
fine. But 5 days later,it was the same time
so i had another course of norfloxacin and
it was the same thing-i felt well when i
was on norfloxacin but the pains came back
after finishing the course.
My doctor did a urine test for me when i
returned from overseas. It was a urine
culture and everything was normal and he
said the results were very good,he then
diagnosed me with IBS and gave me medicine
to stop the stomach spasms but nothing has
worked now.I am very stressed and i am
getting all wild thoughts like having
colon cancer and stuff.I started smoking 6
months ago only and just quit today due to
family issues.
All the organic possibilities should be
excluded first before concluding that some
abdominal pain is due to irritable bowel
syndrome (IBS). IBS is a functional
disorder without any organic lesion.
Can you perform abdominal ultrasound?
Can you also do some blood analyzes
(sedimentation rate, blood count, liver
status, kidney status...?

Exactly the same problem i've been having.
Im a just turned 30 yr old female and docs
gave me med for urine infection, but prob
still there.
The pain seems to get worse when im
stressed. I've been told it could be IBS
but like Dr. Nikola said, all organis
possibilities need to be excluded first.
It would be great to hear how you got on
eggprata.
In the meantime, I'm going to keep
insisting i get checked out properly.

hi there.Sorry for the long long reply, had
been very busy and just found time to log
in today. And it happened that the pain has
come back AGAIN ! I had been well for 3
months but now the same thing is happening
again for the past 3 days.
Is it anything to worry about? But i feel
better after i pass motion but after some
time,like 30mins,the pain and tightness
comes back again.Any idea?
Your symptoms don't sound serious but it
is hard to tell you preciselly what the
problem is without performing some basic
medical researches: physical examination,
blood analyses and abdominal ultrasound.
It could be a simple maldigestion, IBS,
intestinal infection etc.

Hi...I agree with Dr. Nikola. First of
all, I think you must do some blood
analyses to confirm that everything is ok.
Ask your doctor about that. On the other
hand, you must relax. IBS is a syndrome
which is associated with our nervous
system. Any problem you have cans appear
as a stomach pain.
