Actually I am pro choice, but why keep doing something if its such a horrible experience.. ?

You sound "pro choice" up to a certain limit. Lol. People choose pro choice methods like abortion and "keep doing" it because they don't want to remain pregnant. Is that so hard to comprehend?! I don't think using abortion as a method of birth control is wise considering all that you have to go through but it's not my job (or yours) to determine when someone should have one. My birth control failed. I learned abstinence is the sole way to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. I (like you) was ignorant to the fact that birth control does fail. I never thought I'd be in that 1% that does fail. But guess what, it did. As I stated in my other post, hope it doesn't happen to you. Actually that's a lie, I hope it does. Then maybe you'll be a little less judgmental.

I have had 3 abortions..

I cannot use hormonal BC, so I used lesser effective 'barrier' methods.

Surgical abortion was PAINLESS thanks to IV sedation, and very easy.

SHE stated that abortion by pill was horrible, and that surgical abortion was easier.

I am a womans health RN, I work in an abortion clinic pt. You wrongly assume that she was not using contraception, she could have been using a lesser effective barrier method.

Not all women can use hormonal BC, and I see women that become pregnant despite having a tubal ligation.

Thank you! You obviously use that side of your brain that involves common sense reasoning. Lol.

Condoms and spermicide are not very effective...

No offense, but condoms break, and even people who use condoms perfectly are only 95% protected.

Thanks Carifairy. I thought condoms were 99% effective. I was thinking of birth control pills I guess. So, I fall into the 5% it didn't work for. I took care of my problem and I have no regrets AT All!!! I'm thoroughly relieved to say the least.

Everyone has individual circumstances. We're so super quick to judge until we're in a compromising situation. I can't discuss my particular details but lets just say, it would not be in my best interest to remain pregnant for soooooooooo many reasons. But, that doesn't matter. It's my choice, no one else's.

MANY women use condoms, and IF they happen to accidentally become pregnant they would have an abortion.

Many women choose to not use BC pills, IUD, etc.. That is your personal choice.

I have friends who have gotten pregnant using the Today Sponge, having a condom break, using the rhythm method, and the withdrawal method. (I realize the last two aren't effective "methods".) Also, I've met several girls here who have gotten pregnant while on hormonal bc.

I also have friends who got pregnant while on birth control. I noticed the person who made that ridiculous comment hasn't been back or just hasn't responded after she realized how her assuming her comment/question to me was or both. Lol.

Hopefully it works!!

Condoms, sponges etc, are great, although they are not as effective as hormonal methods.. Not all women can use hormones, and I am glad that abortion is available as a back-up just in case our BC fails.

I got pregnant using a condom AND my boyfriend has a low sperm count due to varicolcele. The doctors have told him for many years that he would need surgery to fix the problem before being able to have children. Guess they were wrong. Rolling Eyes

Girl, I'm so so sorry that you're going through this. I can't even imagine going thru all of this to find you're still pregnant. I hope everything works out.

Goingthruit- IF you are already bleeding it is good!

ONE thing to know. Technically surgical abortion is safer than medical abortion. I know 'surgery' sounds bad, but they do not cut you or anything. Surgical abortion takes 3-5 minutes.

I know that most clinics give you good drugs through an IV which makes it painless.

IF this does not work, surgical is not that bad, and you KNOW it is done!!

made my appt today
Posted: 07-17-08 16:18pm

Just over 30 years old and found out I am pregnant today so I called and made an appointment for the medicinal abortion. Thankfully it's only 5 weeks so I'm hoping this will be a quick thing. To be sure the posts I have been reading have me concerned, but nothing is easy nowadays so we'll see.

The only thing is going to be waiting the week until my appointment. I guess it is a popular enough procedure they are booked.

Surgical abortion with IV sedation is the 'easiest' and painless way to go..If you want to know the truth.

Surgical abortion takes 3-5 minutes, so it is quick and you know it is done.

I would wager a guess that yes, this is it. Carifairy can probably tell you whether or not to take the tablets. My guess is that this sounds like a successful abortion.
