medical abortion pill pain Posted: 03-01-08 10:16am
I took the mifeprex on Wednesday and 48
hours later took the 5 misopristone which
was 2/29/08 at 12:40 p.m. The cramps were
pretty harsh. Anyway I have to take 5 more
mispristone today at 12:40 p.m. again. I
haven't read that many other people take
the misopristone 2 days in a row but
that's what my clinic prescribed.
What is supposed to happen today? Am I
going to have the same pain again. I
hardly think I can tolerate another day.
I should have chosen the surgical.

Are you taking the pills by mouth??
When the pills are taken by mouth, you
usually need to times with misoprostol to
finish it.
YES, you will have more intense pain.
You should have chosen surgical. My clinic
IV sedates all women for the procedure, so
it is painless for them.
Surgical is much faster and much less
painful, especially when done at the right
clinic that offers IV sedation.

I am taking them vaginally.
I cannot believe that I am going to have
to go through the pain again!!
AAAAHHHHH!!
I wish I had known about these board
before making my decision.

Medical abortion is more painful and time
consuming than surgical..
The ONLY benefit is that you do it at
home..

The thing I am scared about the most is
that it doesn't work. I have a follow-up
next week.
Do you see a lot of failed medical
abortions in your office? And what are
their options? Surgical? Take the pills
again?

Most women choose surgical, but I have
only seen two failed medical abortions.
We give the woman a surgical abortion,
that way she does not have to go through
the medical abortion again.
