medical condition ?
Posted: 05-08-08 11:18am

Hi, I'm just taking a shot in the dark by posting here, but here goes.

For as long as I can remember (even when I was a baby my mother tells me), when I am physically tired, I do this thing where I lightly rub the tips of my fingers together. When I do this, I get this incredible feeling of relaxation shooting through my body. In addition, my jaw automatically drops and locks into place, and I have a kind of "tingling" sensation in my brain. It feels incredible, but I'm sort of worried there might be something wrong with me.

Can anyone tell me if this is a medical condition, or am I just a freak? Smile

There is no condition that I am aware of that is associated with what you mention. I would say you are lucky to have found a way to relax so completely. Perhaps you are on to something here. I think it is wonderful for you!

I am not a doctor but I can tell you what the impression of the CT scan said. In plain terms it says that the girl has brain swelling secondary to contusions that occured in the accident. She has on subarachnoid hemorrhage or subdural hematoma. This means there is no bleeding in the brain or blood clots on the brain. There is no midline shift which means the brain is not being pushed to one side. The contusions, which are bruises, did bleed but the bleeding was localized to the area of the contusion.

She has been taken off the ventilator and is now on a T-piece. This is just another way to assist her with breathing and provide oxygen.

Once the swelling goes down her condition will change. She may become more responsive and alert as the swelling goes down. This may take awhile. Swelling can increase after the accident for days and then will start to decrease.

Let us know how your girlfriend and her brother are doing. All the best.
