Menstrual Period after 2 DNCs Posted: 08-13-08 05:30am
We discovered on the 2nd of July that I my
baby had died (I was 14 weeks along). We
scheduled the D&C for the 4th of July. I
was readmitted to hospital a week later
with an infection. After intravenous
antibiotics for 48 hours, I was released
from hospital. One week later I was still
bleeding. I went and saw my gynae again
and he put me on a strong course of
antibiotics to relieve the bleeding. The
bleeding became light spotting, but grew
heavy again as soon as the course of
antibiotics was completed. A week later I
was readmitted for another D&C.
2 weeks after the D&C I started my period
again. I feel extremely drained and
nauseous. The bleeding has continued for 5
days but seems to be dissipating.
I am very confused about my ovulation
cycle. This period has come 5 weeks after
the first D&C and 2 weeks after the 2nd.
The symptoms are very similar to
pregnancy, but I don't understand if it is
even possible to be pregnant so soon after
a D&C (or 2).
