Methadone
Posted: 10-17-06 12:06pm

Someone gave me a pill yesterday to help alleviate cramps but didn't tell me what it was. I have been throwing up since then, having horrible nausea, am fatigued, and can't think about anything besides how horrible i'm feeling. I asked her this morning and she said it was methadone. Can someone please tell me how long I am going to feel this way, what I can do, and why I am so sick? I need any help I can get.

Welcome! Never take someone elses medication as you never know what it is. Methadone is a presribed medication, I take it for heavy pain, it is also used for drug addicts to get off of heroin which I kind of did not understand because in a way you are changing from one medication to another and it takes time to get off of methadone also but I am sure that methadone is better than heroin, I understand that now methadone is being used on the streets as people are crushing them, kind of like oxycontin. I am not a dr so I cannot answer all of your questions. I just hope that you get over feeling bad and beeing nauseated and fatigued. Please do not take me wrong I am not jumping on you, iy just scares me when people do this, heck who knows, you could have had an allergic reaction to it and it might have killed you. If you are talking about mestral cramps what I used to do is to take some hot water with crushed ginger and stirred it up an let it disolve, and waited until it cooled down some and then drank it and put my feet up for about an hour and it helped me and alot of others, but it might not help everyone. If you are not better after while, I would think about going to the dr and tell him/her that someone gave you something for the cramps and it made you feel this way and you do not know what it was.
Good luck!
