Can anyone shed some light on what causes
midline deviation? Is it ever normal? My
jaw deviates when opening sharply to the
unaffected side, and then again, not so
sharply, to the opposite side when
closing? thanks...

it could be as simple as bone structure or
it could be that the muscles are causeing
your jaw to shift. its not "normal" for it
to be horridly off--but everyone is off a
little---You should be able to open
straight up and down-----you cna practice
this in the mirror--here id say if you
never had this problem that it is a
muscular problem and that is simply a case
of retraining your muscles to do things
properly again
