You are so right - it is a very difficult
situation. I wish I could give some
helpful advice. Just do not lose yourself
in all of this! Remember, you have a good
heart, and are a good person and seem to
be trying really hard to make a bad
situation at least tolerable. It is very
hard for a newly married husband to choose
between a wife and a mother - it should
never have to come to that. Take care of
YOURSELF!

I did not mean to offend you by offering
my advice of staying away from your MIL.
I wish I had some moral support for you.
I only meant, if this isn't working for
you, do not let it get YOU down. Get out,
take a walk, stay away, etc. Sorry, I
can't relate to your situation and hope to
goodness I never have to!

hey no worries...i took your advice with
the same spirit as it was meant to be, i
understand what you are trying to
say...and i do try to keep away as much as
possible, i dont understand her point of
view, approach to life nor emotional or
behavorial issues...i cant understand her
at all, never in my life have i dealt with
anyone so raw and rustic, all respects to
her, but i find it chaotic to live with
someone with an entirely different
outlook, since there is no other way, i
decide to take care of her silently and
keep emotionly away...i hope and pray
no-one has to endure living with in-laws
so befuddled in mind and jealous in
approach. Most of the times i prefer to
close my eyes and think of her as the
mother of my husband whom i love so
much--there is no other way to handle her
keeping my temper in check.
these days the cook isnt coming, so i cook
the whole meal before leaving for
office...well well she added chilli
poweder to the Lentil curry i made.for
whose happiness is i cant comprehend , but
yess she did it...and i just kept silent
only because i didnt want to give grief to
my husband.
On a daily basis, i need a lot of strength
to tolerate this.Btw, today is my
Birthday--and DH gave me a diamond
pendant...and we plan to go to a pub in
teh evening all by ourselves..ha! i cant
be happier.
I asked my husband not to tell my MIL
about my B'day, i didnt want to be fussed
by a lady to hates me to hell...
but whoo hoo, its my B'day...so who
cares:)

I hope you were able to go to the pub and
that everything works out perfectly for
the two of you tonight. As I stated
earlier, I really don't know what I would
do, and I hope that will never become an
issue!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU BIJNIL!

hi Posted: 06-08-08 11:01am
Hi beline, feels nice to hear from you and
know you all are around…depression got
better off me , so I thought to turn the
negative energies into something concrete
and started a food blog, cooking has
always been a passion, I love all forms of
art…but off late I stopped all the
cooking as my MIL does not like whatever I
do…she has a peculiar problem of
criticizing everything which is not
according to her palate and licking the
plate clean if she happens to like
it...but never ever saying a word of
thanks as if that gesture would belittle
her…to top my dilemmas, if I cook
anything extra she refuses to have it the
next the , just adding in to the already
long list of troubles which I face in my
daily life…am I downloading all my
miseries…??!! I’m sorry, but I could
help but burst all as you are the only
person who happened to ask the miseries of
my everyday life. But anyways, I tred to
fight back the situation by staring food
blog, journalizing all my recipes, which I
love, and hoping people might love too…
And thanks for asking me about my
wellbeing…

Aww! Isn’t
that too bad…?
Sorry I’ve taken so long to respond.
I’ve been on vacation for two weeks. I
hope you had a bit of a rest as well, you
know - with your MIL being away. Where is
she, and when is she coming back?
