mild spotting after sex
Posted: 09-02-08 23:52pm

ok, so my bf and i had sex, and i noticed that the stuff coming from me was pink-ish....so i went to the bathroom and sure enough it seems i was spotting....what could be the reason for this?

i am on the pill and we use condoms...and i did just start a second pack of the pill right after the first cause i couldnt afford to get my period that weekend....could it be because of that?

I'd suggest that you see your OB-GYN. If you just started using the pill as BC you might chalk it up to a spotty period and getting used to the pill. Did this only happen after sex? Only once? Or continually?

this only happened once so far...last night....i did experience some itching down there earlier in the night to make me think i may have a yeast infection. the spotting wasnt so much after sex as during. the discharge was thick and milky and redish-brownish. it went away after sex.....no sign of it this morning.

I'd venture to say that it might not be that serious. However, if you suspect that there is something that is wrong, I'd suggest that you make an appointment to see your gyno. When was your last annual exam?

my last exam was actually 3 weeks ago....still waiting for the results to come in....so i think ill wait till the end of the week and see what that says...

it happened again last night, but not as much as the night b4, and it wasnt as thick. im hoping its nothing serious cause i been going through a rough time lately with my health and cannot deal with another issue.

if its a yeast infection, it should be easily solved with oral tablets, and vaginal insertion tablets. i had a fungal infection before.

you said you took the pills back to back with no break or placebos right? This could be your cause of spotting..many women who attempt to completely "skip" a period by taking pills back to back dont succeed and do end up spotting...as for the itching and such...as someone else said, it could be due to a yeast infection..if it doesn't go away you might want to make a trip to the gyno to get it cleared up

hi i have took my pill back to back before and sure enough i had spotting to i think this maybe the cause for you as well as i also had an itch down there which worried me but i think it was bc a period id a natural thing for woman and we are stopping that from accuring by taking the pills back to back and bc there is a lot of blood that usually is let out it had to spot to get rid of some, thats my opinion anyways hope it helps

your prescription isn't designed to be taken back-to-back. your uterus is building up all this blood lining and it needs to go "somewhere". i wonder what your next period is going to be like if you do this. logically it SHOULD be 2x as bad as normal. i don't know if that will be the case, but i would highly suggest that it's probably not smart to take pill packs back-to-back.

your body needs your period to remain healthy.
