I am taking Trinessa, generic of OTC, and
I took the last active pill on sat.
morning, got my period on tuesday night -
saturday. Then, I took my first active
pill on Sunday (first day of new pack) at
10:00 am, took pill on monday at 11:30 am,
took pill on tuesday at 8:30. However, I
forgot to take my pill on Wed. am and I
was sexually active on Wed. night and
Thursday morning. When I realized I hadn't
taken my Wed. pill, I took two white pills
(day 4 and 5 of pack) on Thursday at 9:00
am. What are my chances of being pregnant?
The Trinessa info. says if you miss 1
white or light blue, you don't have use an
additional form of protection, but other
sites indicate differently...
Also, because I travel quite often, I am
taking my pill at slightly different
hours, always before noon though. Is it
risky to not use another form of
protection? How strict should I be with
making sure I take the pill at exactly the
same time each day?
Recommendations for combined contraceptive
pills (like Trinessa) say that If you miss
only one pill in the first week you only
need to take 2 pills the next day and no
additional contraceptive method is
necessary. This means that you did right
when missed one pill so chances to
conceive are very small.
Taking each pill in the same time every
day is very important when use pills that
contain only progesterone. Combined pills
that contain both estrogen and
progesterone, like Trinessa, don't request
such precision.
