4mm nodular density on lung xray
Posted: 06-04-08 08:09am

I had a chest xray due to a lingering chest cold. My doctor advised that the radiologist saw a 4mm nodular density on my upper left lung but that it may be a shadow. They want me to wait 3 mos to have another chest xray. I'm very concerned that this may be something serious and wonder why they want me to wait 3 months.

If they assumed on some serious lung disease (tumor for example) they would refer you for CT or MRI scan of the lungs right after the X-ray. Doctors probably though that it is not urgent but still needs further evaluation.
What do you blood tests say about your blood count, sedimentation rate and CRP?

The doctor has not sent me for any blood tests so I can't provide any information on blood count, etc.

Strange. He should send you to some basic blood tests.
You can consult some pulmonologist about this.
