I visited the doctor 3 days ago because of a bleeding mole on my nose - he froze it there and then (gosh did that hurt!). The top layers of the mole peeled off, and now I am left with a huge angry red lump 3 times the size of the original mole (HUGE), surrounded by a very dark red ring. It looks utterly horrific, and it is also very sore. It isn't going to be like this forever, is it? I don't want to even leave the house looking like this, I am very scared that he has scarred me badly for life I have searched the net but not found one other story about cryotherapy that has resulted in this appearance! Help!

Not sure where you are, but I have had several places frozen off. Yes, the place turns red, seems to look kinda gross for a while, until it begins to heal. Did y ugo to a regula physican or dermotologist? I do not think your nose will look like it does now in a month or so, but it will take soem time for this place to heal. I would call your physican and tell him your concerns, just to make sure there is not anything that has gone wrong. This would at least put your mind at ease!

I don't understand why he froze it. I mean when I had a mole removed the doctor cut out the whole mole and send it to biopsy. Then I had other bump taken off too and also sent to biopsy. Doctor then decided to froze it but you see it was after having a biopsy result. I find it very strange to froze a mole without having a diagnosis?
