Mouth guard vs splint flex guard Posted: 03-10-08 11:44am
I'm confused as to what is the difference
between the two other than one uses a
harder plastic and is worn during the day.
I had a mouth guard for several years and
i kept having to get new ones because i
would bite holes in it at night. very
disconcerting that not only am i eating
plastic without being able to notice i'm
doing it in my sleep, but it did not ease
the muscle pain at all.
Now my Oral surgeon wants me to spend
1250.00 on this flex guard or oral splint.
Is it really worth it? Does it work for
anyone on this site?

its more than likely the same thing---the
difference being the material with wich it
is made. i thini that its a toughter
material. i think its worth a try. ( i
myself am a splint destroyer) I have a
feeling that you have a muscle problem as
well--have you seen a neuromuscular
dentist?--if not you should look into it.
if you need help finding one pm me --if
you need any thing at all dont hesitate to
contact me.
