MS and waxing !!!
Posted: 07-05-08 10:01am

i am a beauty therapist and one of my new clients has MS, when i waxed her legs, her legs appeared redder and reacted more to the wax (i.e harder to remove) usually this is related to the temperature of the body area. (area to cold) So was wondering does MS affect blood flow. Or are these reactions related to MS. Is waxing advisable.
Any info on waxing and MS would be greatly appreciated.

Blood flow in the skin is controlled by the autonomous nerve system (sympathicus and parasympathicus). Multiple sclerosis can affect any brain part including the nerve pathways that are involved in the function of the autonomous nerve system.
I am not sure if MS caused lower skin temperature and different reaction to wax but I also don't see any reason (including this one) why should be waxing contraindicated in case of MS.
