Nuva Ring and facial hair
Posted: 09-22-08 22:59pm

I am 19 years old. I am on the Nuva Ring. I have switched birth controls many times because they have all made me sick, including this one. Today, my breasts were extremly sore and well, big(I am not even an A cup and well yeah). If you sqeeze them there is a big like bump back there it is all behind my breast, completly. What could this be?

Also, being 19 I don't think I should have a problem with facial hair and I do. I get little buds on my chin and my I also have hair growth on my nipples. Even being on the birth control I have VERY heavy periods and they are also painful.

Any ideas of what could be the deal?

Thank you in advances.

All good questions for a doctor.

For your birth control question, there are many non hormonal birth controls you may want to consider. Also, ask your doctor about the mini pill, it has a different hormone that you may not be so sensitive to.

Is this bump always there, at every point in your cycle? Are you doing self breast exams or are you just squeezing? If you feel something, then it's a good idea to speak with a doctor just to be safe.

It sounds like you have a hormonal imbalance, have you always had hair on your face and nipples or is this a recent thing?

Different birth controls have been discussed and the mini pill and non hormonal BC have never come up.

It is there at every point in my cycle. When I go see the OB she does a breast exam.

I have always had the hair.
