Muscle extension and sports injuries Posted: 06-20-08 06:08am
I will further expand, I used to weight
lift stopped for about 11 months due to
wrist surgery, about a year or so ago I
was shrugging about 100kg and felt a cold
sensation on my neck where the pain now
occurs, it was like getting an injection
into the muscle slow moving out of a cold
feeling across the muscle from my neck
about an inch into the muscle towards my
shoulder, I stopped lifting stright away
and stretched the muscle, there was no
pain in the muscle after this but this
injury has been here on and off for over a
year now
I know if I go to my doctor he will give
me pain killers and tell me to rest it, I
have tried resting it for weeks and it has
not helped, any help in this matter would
be great I would like a diagnosis before I
go to my doctor, so I can ask for what
scans are needed etc, to get this problem
sorted I would hate to have this all my
life.

According to your symptoms (muscle pains)
and data about a sports injury you could
be experiencing muscle extension.
Painkillers, physical therapy and avoiding
excessive physical efforts are recommended
in such cases.
You may want to consult an orthopedist and
a physiotherapist for precise diagnosis
and proper treatment.
