muscle pain on middle right back Posted: 06-23-08 20:41pm
I am 46 and I have pain from my right hip
tapering off as it goes down my leg after
standing too long or walking too much.
I've had this for years but in the last 6
months I developed constant pain in my
lower to middle back on the right side
also. I inadvertently discovered that my
left buttocks has a deep pain, almost like
something is ready to pop and make it feel
better when it's pressed on very firmly.
The right buttocks doesn't feel this way.
I've been to a chiropractor and he popped
some things in my lower back but I still
had the pain. He said my leg lengths are
equal, my hips are moving well and he
can't figure out what's wrong. I had one
session of spinal decompression, but the
whole time I was thinking if only someone
could pull my hips, not my waist,
something would pop and feel better.
I have always (from the teens or twenties
up) had a tender lower back and a sharp
pain if I move the wrong way.
What do I try next?

Hello Gardengirl,
PLEASE make an appointment to see the very
best spinal surgeon that you can find for
his/her advice. I hope the spinal doctor
will recommend that you have an MRI and
x-rays. You have been putting up with
this pain far to long.
Gardengirl, please do not wait any longer
to seek the advice of a spinal surgeon.

I meant to add that I had an MRI after one
really painful week when I over did the
walking while already in pain (thinking
there was going to be something SO
obvious) and they said I have
osteoarthritis - like I couldn't have
guessed that. And that was it.

Hello Gardengirl,
I'm glad you had the MRI.
NOW do your research and seek the advice
of the VERY BEST spinal surgeon available
in your area. AND do take your MRIs with
you to the spinal surgeon.
Also, are you taking any medication for
your osteoarthritis, and I don't mean pain
meds?
