So I had my baby showerwhich was amazing!! My mom hosted it, with the help of me of course and a few friends. We now having everything for our son! I can't wait, cuz now its just having him! But anyways, I got a cool idea from a friend that we did on the invitation. We put on there, if you bring a bag of diapers, you were entered to win a $25 Visa card. Some people said it was a dumb idea but let me tell you what, it was a great idea! We recieved 27 packs of diapers and 2 cases!! We have sizes Newborn to size 3!! I just thought this was a cool idea to share to those who are having a shower!

WOW! I know what I'm doing for my next baby shower!

How many newborn diapers do you have?! I would imagine everyone would bring those, that's the only down side I'd see!

Actually we got a even number of Newborn, 1 and 2s and we got 2 packs of size 3. And I heard as long as we don't open them we can take them back and get different sizes at walmart. My friend said Walmart will scan them and tell you if they were bought there. And everyone pretty much bought huggies and pampers, there was only 2 packs of off brand. Granted I don't know the first thing about brands or what he will be able to wear but I will have lots of diapers for other people that need them if he can't use them.

Well I was due in the beginning of Jan, but after talking with the doc, they put my due date back at Christmas Eve again. All my ultrasounds except the first one which I had really early, shows the babys growth on track with Christmas Eve! So he pretty much just let me go back to that date. lol.. I really want a Christmas Baby!!! I can't wait as time goes by it gets more exciting!!

My baby is due in early Jan and wishing that it's born in christmas. Not because of the holiday but because of the tax break!!! Any day before december 31 will be fantastic! Laughing

Hey thats another way to look at it the tax break would be great! Do you know what you are having??? I really hope he comes on time, my boyfriends birthday is December 20th, and we are naming the baby after him so we are really hoping it comes on his birthday because it would be neat to have a Jr and Sr with the same birthday!! But I said I don't care when he comes as long as he is healthy and strong!

If you're due at the end of December or the beginning of January, you can mention the 2008 tax return to your doctor. They might allow you to be induced since it's a special circumstance. My doctor is inducing me a few days before Christmas so I can enjoy the holiday with my new daughter. It's definitely worth mentioning at your next appointment.

Omg that would be awesome. My doctor may go for it! We went for an ultrasound today, it was free by the students. It was cool cuz they took measurments and a rough weight. The pics are kinda cloudy because the tech did it first then the students did the pics so they didn't press hard enough which I don't mind cuz sometimes thats tourture lol. But they didn't ask my due date, they gave me a due date by the mesurements and its Dec 23, which is right on track with christmas eve so I can't wait till my appt next week to tell the dr! He is 16.1 inches long and 3lbs 15oz by estimate. He is so long already but I am 5'11" and my boyfriend is 6'4" so it makes sense. AyaMiyaki when was your original due date?

Aya the thought crossed my mind about asking for induction but I think I will stick the natural way. If I needed a c-section then I would definetly schedule before Dec 31. My due date is Jan 9.

We actually wanted the baby to be born in Feb. My husband actually doesn't like his bday is early Jan because then he doesn't get birthday gifts as people have already give him for christmas hahaha. So this might be only fun for the mom, not really for the kids. I like my bday is April that way I always get gifts for my bday and then again for christmas. Smile

Wow you guys are tall. I'm 5'6 and my husband is 5'11 but his brother is 6'4. I do expect my girl to be tall. 3 lbs by now sounds about right for your time.

My due date is 12/27. My doctor said they'd induce me around 12/18 or so. I have an appointment tomorrow, so I'm going to ask when they're going to set the date in stone.

NA: Most first-time mothers go over their due dates, so it's very possible that you'll give birth later in January.

I heard they say when inductions that you experience more painful contractions that if it is the natural way..is that true? I heard it from the discovery health birthday shows.

Well I was induced with my first daughter, and I didn't think the contractions were too bad. From the time they put the needle in my arm to the time my daughter was born, it was 28 hours. I got my epidural around the 26 hour mark. So basically I had contractions for 26 hours without needing pain relief.

But obviously that will depend on your labor, your pain tolerance, and other factors. My next labor might be awful! I really don't know. Wink
