My Knee And Its Cartilage
Posted: 12-09-04 04:30am

Less then a week ago (on saturday), I was playing hockey and went into the boards quite hard, knee first.

I suffered from a bruised quadricep muscle (musclevastus medialis) on my right leg, suckers in this picture:

the bruised quadricep immediately began to swell and I could had a limp for two days.
As of yesterday (wednesday, 4 days after the injury) I could walk without pains and currently my conscern is with a popping/snapping in my knee that is taking place near the area in which my finger is pointing in the following picture:

the popping/snapping occurs when I fully extend my leg and as I start to bend my knee, it snaps. So as my leg is in the picture, when I just barely start to bend my knee, a little snap happens and you can literally feel it occuring. There is no pain when doing this.

I have been told that this perhaps may be the cartilage that is hardened after the injury and the snap/popping will go away shortly. Can anyone confirm this as true or is this a problem I should have checked out? Thanks.
