I suffer from myopia, I am 21 years old
and it's getting worse slightly (now i
wear contact lenses -3.75/-3.5 and glasses
another -0.25).
My question is - what is better - to wear
weaker glasses/lenses or stronger
glasses/lenses to have a perfect sight
with them?
A am studying computer science at
university and therefore is often
necessity for me to work with computer
even the whole day. However, as even my
optician said it, this is probably not the
main source of my problems, though it
might speed up worsening process a bit. I
guess it is true, since lots of people I
know, who work with computers even more
often than me, don't have any problems
with their vision. However there is
something, that I realise is really not
too good. My screen is in front of the
window (there is no way to place it
elsewhere), so there is often a reflection
when sun shines (there is no direct sun
though). I purchased HP LCD screen with
antireflex layer and if possible i use
Venetian blinds, but often it's necessery
to have light inside the room.
Do you have any advice for me to improve
working environment somehow? (without
replacing computer screen).
But back to my main question. I feel that
if I wear glasses that are weaker I need,
then my sight is worsing only slightly. If
I change glasses/lenses to stronger one
(let's say less than -0.1 per 6 month I
guess), sight relatively quickly gets
worse to initial state (relatively of
course) , it means even almost -0.25 per 2
months and then again normally only
slightly.
What would you recommend? Maybe it is just
my feeling, I made no measurments ... May
it be harmful for eyes to wear weaker or
stronger lenses/glasses? What is better
for vision development, weaker glasses or
stronger glasses to have perfect sight?
P.S.: Sorry for possible vocab/grammar
mistakes, I am not a native English
speaker.
