Need opinions and input Posted: 07-09-08 12:48pm
Hey everyone! happy Wednesday! I hope
all is well.
My baby shower is scheduled for 8/09/08
and I cannot wait. I already have the
perfect invitations and food planned. I
think the decorations are going to be
minimal cause I want more food and drink.
But heres my dilemma:
I have an idea and I would like everyones
opinion. My hubby's 21st birthday is
8/06/08 which is a Wednesday. So we
normally would celebrate his bday on the
weekend, but the shower is already set.
Would it be too corny to combine the two
celebrations? Daniel wanted to have some
alcohol for all his guy buddies at the
shower anyway. So I am thinking that we
could have the shower and play the games
and have all the baby talk and after bring
out the drink and party party party!!!
Right? How does that sound? Do you think
people will go for it? How should I do the
invites? I was thinking of making it a
surprise for Daniel (hubby) and insert a
separate card or invite with the baby
shower invite. Somethin saying ps:party
afterwards to celebrate Daniel 21st
Is this too tacky?
Thanks for all the input...im getting soo
excited.

Not tacky at all - especially if those are
the same people that would be at your baby
shower anyway.

Thanks girls! The crowds will pretty much
be the same. We do have some friends that
are in alcoholics anonymous that will be
there for the shower. Thats why I wanted
to make it to where the alcohol came out
later. I know none of them would hold it
against us, but they are really really
good friends and we want to respect them.
But it will pretty much be the same
people.
Theres a couple of his friends I will have
to invite seperately, but it should work
out. Man I cannot wait for this party. I
dont know whats more exciting planning his
party or the baby shower!

yes I am actually...I know, how bad is
that right. Honestly I havent had anyone
offer me one or any family members that
even know how to do a baby shower.
But I already have 2 months left and no
one has mentioned a baby shower. Everyone
just asks when it will be. So I figured I
shouldnt wait too much longer to get
things moving.
I have a sister but shes only 16

That will save you guys time and money
combining the two! Try to get ppl to help
you ...your going to
wear yourself out quick doing all the
planning, making food,cleaning etc.

have you ever head of a diaper party? i
think that's what it's called. anyway,
it's when all the guys get together and
they all buy diapers for the new dad and
then they sit around and party like guys
do. just an idea. i don't think there's
anything wrong with combining them if it's
all the same friends anyway.
